Clinical Excellence
The Division is seeking a Senior Program Officer to provide support to the Office of the Assistant Director General through the development, implementation and coordination of programs and initiatives. The position will provide a high level of corporate support for the division in the areas of corporate reporting, submissions, briefings and Parliamentary and Ministerial correspondence.
The Senior Program Officer will take a leading role in providing quality assurance and strategic advice in relation to correspondence and documentation submitted to the Office of the Assistant Director General.
The Clinical Excellence division oversees and contributes to key functions for the Department of Health and the WA health system including:
Clinical Excellence Division comprises of 10 directorates including:
- State Health Operations Centre
- System Improvement Unit
- Clinical Planning Unit
- Health Networks
- Patient Safety and Clinical Quality
- Strategic Workforce and Development
- Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office
- Office of the Chief Medical Officer
- Office of the Chief Dental Officer
- Chief Allied Health Officer
The division is the focal point for clinical engagement, clinical workforce, workforce planning, clinical service planning and service improvement, and safety and quality. It also leads major National and State reform programs in the areas of Emergency Access Response Taskforce and Ambulance Ramping Taskforce.
Purchasing and System Performance
The Purchasing and System Performance Division is seeking a Principal Program Officer to provide support to the Office of the Assistant Director General through the development, implementation and coordination of programs and initiatives. The position will provide a high level of corporate support for the division in the areas of corporate reporting, submissions, briefings and Parliamentary and Ministerial correspondence.
The Principal Program Officer will take a leading role in providing quality assurance and strategic advice in relation to correspondence and documentation submitted to the Office of the Assistant Director General.
The PSP division oversees and contributes to key functions for the Department of Health and the WA health system including:
- health budget and health purchasing including service agreements with the Health Service Providers
- health system economic and demand modelling
- system performance, data integrity and data linkage
- national and public reporting
- financial operations, financial reform and financial policy

This is a Recruitment Pool for permanent full time and fixed term full time appointments, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
