The Role
As a Senior Project Development Engineer at Edify, you will play a pivotal role in the development of hydrogen electrolyser facilities, alongside contributing to our solar and energy storage projects. We are seeking a solutions-focused, self-starter with experience in both technical and commercial aspects of energy projects in the Australian market.

Core Responsibilities Include:

Your experience and skills below will enable you to excel in this role.

  • Development of project conceptual design;
  • Develop of functional specification for the overall project and balance of plant which is consistent with the project goals and offtake requirements;
  • Management of Front End Engineering Design contractor including making key design decision based on feedback from front end engineering design;
  • Assessment and selection of electrolyser OEMs;
  • Negotiation and coordination of any project early works activities including for preliminary design or site investigation requirements such as geotechnical studies, flood studies and site surveying;
  • Assist in development of the project contracting strategy with due consideration to project cost and risk, including interfaces and performance warranties;
  • Market engagement and tendering for EPC contracts including preparation of key technical requirement documents and selection and evaluation;
  • Negotiation of technical requirements in EPC contracts;
  • Assist with reviewing and negotiating technical parameters of off-take agreements and ensuring consistency with the project design.
  • Assist to develop an operations plan for project and negotiation of long term service agreements and operation and maintenance contracts as appropriate.
  • Coordination of consultant undertaking project technical due diligence activities required to be undertaken as a part of financing.
  • Project management of key engineering, design and supply contract(s) with a focus on quality, time and cost;
  
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Development and engineering within the energy sector
  • Strong understanding of technical and commercial aspects of energy projects in the Australian market
