Position Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will report to the Construction Manager and play a senior pivital role in their project team, contributing to the planning, programming, and successful delivery of a range of civil engineering projects. Collaborating with Project Engineers, you will ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budgetary limits. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with client requirements and legal obligations, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and adhere to the Project Quality Plan and Occupational Health and Safety Plan for all on-site activities.
- Allocate necessary resources for the implementation of the Integrated Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Plans.
- Assist in preparing and enforcing Safe Work Method Statements for construction site activities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, negotiate variations and credits, and manage project finances to ensure positive outcomes for the business.
- Oversee induction and training of personnel, including sub-contractors, on-site.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineer team to ensure availability of required resources for project completion.
- Cost, document, approve, and invoice variations, credits, and delay costs accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and inspect plant and equipment, taking prompt action on faults and repairs.
- Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct research on standard specifications and construction methods for civil projects.
- Collaborate with the project team to determine effective construction methodologies, materials, and quality assurance requirements.
- Prepare engineering estimates and commercial documents for procurement.
- Establish and Foster excellent and effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Registration/Licensure as a professional engineer may be required.
- Valid Australian driver’s license.
- Recent Police Record Check or willingness to complete one.
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in the civil construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction regulations, infrastructure standards, and safety practices.
- Strong contractual knowledge
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and numerical literacy skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, scheduling software, and project management tools.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
