Appointment Pool

Program Kaartdijin is seeking to establish a pool of Senior Project Officers for appointments to fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of March 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024, up to the end of March 2025.

The Role and our Branch

Program Kaartdijin has been established to develop a functionally fit, technologically robust solution to replace the current School Information System (SISClassic) and include additional information capture and reportability. The Program focuses on providing short term solutions as well as a longer-term solution that meets the operational needs of schools and the reporting and management needs of the Department at large.  The Program vision is to provide a contemporary administrative and finance solution connecting people, processes and systems for school communities now and into the future.

The new Kaartdijin Solution will replace the SISClassic suite of applications currently used in 800+ schools throughout Western Australia. The Department has contracted TechnologyOne as the provider of the core finance functionalities and Compass Education as the provider of the billing, student administration and school administration functionalities for schools.

This position will be part of a team who investigate the Student and School Administration and Timetabling components of the SIS Replacement solution to be implemented at schools, and high-level demonstration of experience and skills related to enrolment, attendance, pastoral care and timetabling processes will be required.  Suitable applicants will apply their knowledge of legislation and policy to inform the Program solution and identify, test and provide recommendations regarding the implementation of the Program solution.

1. Demonstrated substantial knowledge of student administration processes, related legislation, policies and the best practices for the provision and support of these, and proven ability to apply that knowledge effectively.
3. Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide overviews and strategies to address them.
4. Demonstrated highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, liaise and negotiate with individuals at all levels.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
