- Remuneration: $105,466 to $114,196 pa. (HEW6) (inclusive of $89,120 to $96,497 pa, 17% superannuation, and leave loading)
- Location: Queensland
- Open to: applicants who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Project Officer (Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct) to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.
The Senior Project Officer (Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct) provides a wide range of operational, HSE and project support to QUT’s activities at the Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct. The position requires demonstrated experience in the implementation of HSE policies, preparation of project documentation, coordinate site emergency management and chemical management plans, front office operations and to conduct health and safety inductions as required.

The Precinct hosts a wide range of pilot scale translational research activities for QUT, including the development of pilot equipment and processes for industry partners as well as long-term monitoring of industrial products..
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a relevant degree, with subsequent relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory or industrial research environment, ideally including a chemistry or related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret client requirements and develop detailed practical support solutions using a wide range of laboratory or Pilot Plant skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in safe practices for the procurement, handling, storage, segregation, use and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Demonstrated capability in preparing clear and concise documentation and communicating effectively with a range of diverse groups (including people whose first language is other than English).
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, critically evaluate systems and processes and work collaboratively to achieve team-based outcomes in a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety risk management, and chemical management processes to enable an effective health and safety culture.
- Highly developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others and effectively liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
