About the role We are recruiting a Senior Project Officer within the Major Projects and Precincts planning team who will be responsible for leading the assessment of site specific and precinct-wide Planning Proposals to achieve specific outcomes identified in the Parramatta Local Strategic Planning Statement, Parramatta 2038. The successful applicant will also be responsible for providing support to junior staff as they assist on larger projects. The Major Projects and Precincts team forms part of the broader City Planning and Design team, which is multi-disciplinary and ensures we can target the strategic response to the City’s opportunities and challenges. About You The successful applicant will be passionate about strategic planning and making a real difference to the lives of those who live, work and play in Parramatta. This role will suit those accustomed to complex applications within a fast-paced working environment and who can quickly change focus or prioritise their work program as needed. Applicants will have: Degree qualified in strategic planning or equivalent Considerable experience in strategic Land Use Planning including a detailed understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape Understand all components of project, program, and portfolio management processes A strong understanding of development contributions and Voluntary Planning Agreements An exceptional ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships, and influence others with an engaging approach and technique Advanced problem solving and decision-making ability; including confidence in working with leaders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex planning related issues What’s on offer We are offering an attractive salary up to $125,370 based on skills and experience plus 11% superannuation.
