As a Senior Ranger in the Coastal and Islands Region, you'll play a crucial role in preserving Queensland's diverse coastal landscapes. Your responsibilities include leading a dispersed team, fostering stakeholder relationships, providing public education on conservation, managing emergency response and compliance operations, and overseeing budgets and infrastructure projects.
What We're Looking For:
- Organisational Navigator: Contribute to organizational goals, priorities, and decision-making. Determine work priorities with consideration for the wider context and external factors.- Resourceful Leader: Take responsibility for planning and managing programs, projects, and operational outcomes. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in coping with competing work priorities in a geographically dispersed/large area.- Team Player: Actively work as an effective team member locally, regionally, and as a member of the broader agency. Establish and maintain productive relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders.- Effective Communicator: Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Tailor communication style to suit the audience. Understand stakeholder needs and strive to achieve them through effective use of resources, skills, and techniques.- Knowledgeable: Strong knowledge and understanding of the principles of conservation and natural resource management. Understanding of workplace health and safety, compliance, and emergency response. Knowledge of the systems, policies, and procedures supporting human resource and financial management standards. Knowledge of data collection techniques for monitoring and reporting on programs.- Diversity Advocate: Contribute to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of innovation, respect, and inclusion.
