This position reports to the Principal Ranger, K'gari and will lead a dedicated team responsible for the delivery of compliance and education programs on K'gari (Fraser Island). Primarily the delivery is related to enhanced wongari (dingo) management outcomes, therefore the programs will encompass all aspects of K'gari (Fraser Island) management and at times coordination across Great Sandy Area resources and planning and monitoring systems. The position will be expected to develop, participate in, and report on coordinated implementation programs for education and compliance outcomes, including client engagement and undertake investigations and issue Penalty Infringement Notices for breaches of legislation.
The position will at times be required to assist with coordinating delivery of other operational management actions, including fire management, pest control and recreational and management infrastructure management. K'gari (Fraser Island) is a high visitation area and working on weekends and school holidays may be required.
The successful applicant will require the ability to communicate clearly with team members, First Nations partners and park clients and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
This position is based on K'gari (Fraser Island) and will be required to live on island.
