About the role

The Senior Records Officer position is a new role within the Records Management team at Merri-bek City Council. Council Executive have recently endorsed the Records and Information Management Strategy 2024 – 2027 and the Senior Records Officer role will assist in the implementation.

The Senior Records Officer role will provide records registration and non-technical system support by responding to Content Manager queries and requests. The role will work closely with the Records Team to assist in skill development, manage work allocation, develop and maintain operational procedures.

The role will be a key member of the Records Management team and report to the Coordinator Records and Information Management.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

  • Demonstrated use of Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and ability to respond to user queries
  • Experience in providing team guidance and support
  • Awareness of record keeping frameworks eg; Public Records Office Victoria guidelines
  • Identifying and contributing to process and system improvement
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
