Senior Software Engineer (Ruby/React) - Sydney Office - Permanent Full Time

A great opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join Domain's Agent Experience, where you would be responsible for contributing to the development and enhancement of a crucial platform used by thousands of real estate agents and vendors, Pricefinder.
Share your knowledge and mentor fellow team members to foster their growth and excellence while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of best practices and technical excellence across the team. Elevating the quality of our software products through code reviews, debugging, and the implementation of best practices and participate in architectural planning and provide technical direction for our platform.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will…

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails

• Build responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces using ReactJS.

• Collaborate effectively with engineers, developing and maintaining web applications with clean, tested, scalable, and performant solutions.

• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, working independently and collaboratively.

• Be experienced in working in an iterative, agile/scrum environment with product and engineering teams.

• Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members.

• Possess strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in software development.

Attributes

• Solid experience in Ruby on Rails and ReactJS.

• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Strong understanding of state management libraries such as Redux.

• Proficiency in working with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment.

• Strong CSS skills with a focus on responsiveness and mobile-first approach.

• Effective communication skills for seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NextJS.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Contribution to the development of front-end microservices.
