Our client is a market leading global investment manager, who delivers alternative real asset solutions to the institutional market.As a vital part of the investment team, the Senior Strategist plays a critical role within the Investments team in developing and implementing portfolio strategies, contributing to investment analytics, and research. They will also be accountable for fostering a positive team culture and providing both leadership and mentorship to the wider business.Reporting to the Investment Director - Strategy & Implementation, this role will play a significant part in leading the Investments research program and processes. This role will provide oversight and mentor junior members of the team.Key Responsibilities
- Develop tactical, systematic and fundamental frameworks of asset allocation strategies;
- Review risk and portfolio management metrics for decision-making process;
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other members of the staff;
- Collaborate closely with other Investment team members to determine portfolio enhancement opportunities;
- Actively contribute to the investment team to enhance transparency and accuracy in analytics;
- Implement holistic portfolio risk management;
- Participate in ideation for dynamic and opportunistic asset allocation to optimise risk-adjusted returns;
- Execute tactical trades, optimising implementation for cost-effective positioning;
- Research and determine optimal rebalancing parameters for total portfolio exposure; AND
- Identify and manage unintended risks, assess implementation options, and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, actuarial, commerce, or any relevant field;
- Postgraduate degree/s in related discipline highly regarded;
- 7 or more years experience in portfolio construction and management;
- Sound knowledge of Australian and international financial markets and asset classes;
- Broad understanding of asset pricing models;
- Strong proficiency in mathematics and quantitative abilities;
- Proven track record to lead junior team members to deliver outcomes in a timely manner;
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the team;
- Competent in international data information systems (e.g., Datastream, Bloomberg, Factset, Aladdin);
- Adept with in-house data warehouse and performance measurement systems;
- Impeccable attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills; AND
- Possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
