About Key Assets:
Key Assets Australia is a non-Government, not-for-profit children, and family services agency.
Key Assets was founded in Australia in 2007 and has grown to one of Australia’s leading non-government children and family services providers. We provide foster carer, family services and disability services.
Operating across all states and Norfolk Island, our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities. To achieve that, we need people like you.
Why work with Key Assets:
Working with Key Assets is about more than just a job. Our people do so much to put children first, so we do all we can to support them. We value you as a whole person, not just ‘a worker’, and we truly care about your wellbeing and your career. Because without you, we simply can’t do what we do. And without us, the people we support won’t get the care they need.
About the role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care. You will also provide comprehensive and flexible support to Foster Carers and children/young people and the Social Work team as required.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Support children and young people with goal aligned activities, and other activities such as family time, therapy sessions, school holiday sessions, or educational assistance, both within and outside agency premises.
- Complete daily written records of work undertaken and provide these promptly in line with Key Assets Policies and Procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping Senior Management informed of work in progress and inform Senior Management immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint.
About you:
- Qualifications or training in youth or social work is essential.
- Experience working with vulnerable children and young people of various ages from 0 – 18 years.
- Experience in dealing with children and young people with 'complex needs and behaviours' and the ability to therapeutically manage these behaviours.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is desirable.
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with children, young people and adults.
- Full, clean and open QLD driver’s licence.
- Must currently have, or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for QLD.
