SENIOR DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER FOR LIFEAWARE
IWC is seeking a full-time Senior Disability Support Worker who will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to the National Disability Scheme (NDIS) participants, enhancing their independence, empowering them to achieve short and long-term goals, and improving their overall quality of life.

IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation. We deliver services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mentor new staff members, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure they meet performance expectations and develop professionally.
- Collaborate with management and other team members to identify training needs and develop training materials and programs.
- Collaborate with participants to identify their goals and aspirations.
- Assist participants in acquiring and enhancing life skills to promote independence.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other NDIS Support Workers, healthcare professionals, and relevant parties to ensure holistic care.
- Complete required documentation in accordance with NDIS guidelines.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Disability).
- Minimum 5 years experience working as a Disability Support Worker.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide training, mentoring and motivation to others.
- High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while functioning in a team setting.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Employment is subject to a NDIS Workers Screening Check and Clearance.
- A current driver's licence is essential or ability to obtain.
- A first Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
- A Blue Card ( Working with children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.
- A federal police check or ability to obtain.
- Own transport and full comprehensive insurance required.
- Mobile phone required.
* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate.
SALARY PACKAGE:
Your Salary Package is made up of the following: -
- Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $4,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).
- Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,600 per annum (available after completion of probation).
- 9-Day Fortnight (for full-time staff).
- Superannuation valued at 10.5%.
- Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%
