The Digital Workplace Platform (DWP) provides collaborative workspaces and technologies that enable colleagues to connect with our customers and each other.
End User Computing for Bankwest is managed by the PC Engineering squad within DWP. We maintain the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) both physical and virtual. Using technologies that include VMware Horizon, SCCM, Intune, Entra, Jamf and Group Policy. As an escalation path for Service Desk and Deskside Support teams, L3 Engineering has developed tools that help these teams support business colleagues. These tools are adapted, maintained and enhanced based on user feedback and the changing technology landscape.
L3 Engineering strives to provide a stable and secure desktop platform that enables colleagues to perform their duties efficiently and effectively. Tools, processes and enterprise systems are employed to deliver this platform in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
We’re interested in hearing from people who
Experienced in Virtual Desktop - VMware Horizon like manage and implement new initiatives the existing deployment of Horizon VDI Infrastructure
Interface with vendors in a proactive and reactive capacity to ensure vendor best practice and ensure resolution during outages or periods of reduced performance.
Respond to incident and change request tickets to implement standard level changes and troubleshoots/ resolve incidents/problems.
SOE Development and Maintenance - Define and document the components and configuration of the SOE
Develop and refine methods for deploying and maintaining the SOE
PC Estate Management - Provide/author/implement solutions that enable cost effective management of the PC estate
Employ best practises to ensure that PCs are configured in alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and business requirements
Apply software delivery best practices to deploy and maintain business software
Identify/Implement/Author tools that work toward advancing the “Pace” model and enabling colleague self-service
Provide 3rd level support in accordance with response and resolution SLAs
Proactively address infrastructure risks to reduce the likelihood of incidents and outages
Simplify and automate processes
Promote knowledge sharing and skills transfer though documentation, wiki articles and other interactions with colleagues
Actively assist with issues in Problem Management
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Strong knowledge of VMware Horizon, ESX/vSphere and desktop virtualisation using VMware Horizon
SOE development and management in an enterprise environment
Scripting/Automation (Powershell, VBscript)
Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
Microsoft Intune/Modern Management and Autopilot
Virtualisation (VMWare VDI, V-Sphere, Hyper-V)
Microsoft SCCM/MSI/MSIX
Microsoft Windows365
Cisco UCS
