Computershare has an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, focusing on Infrastructure support within our Technology Service Operations department.
This is a senior role that can truly help drive the business forward from a technical perspective and will provide good exposure to global collaboration, an opportunity to receive industry-standard vendor-based training for upskilling, and will support you in building leadership skills for your future career.
We are more than happy to offer hybrid working for individuals in Melbourne, although there may be times that we do ask you to visit an office to support projects and build relationships with the team.
A role you will love
As one of our Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing ServiceNow queue monitoring and 2nd and 3rd line technical Infrastructure support for all of CTS customers and clients, as well as enhancing customer experience through investigating and resolving system faults, enabling our customers to run their operations effectively.
You will get the opportunity to be involved in many projects, guiding the team with technical queries, and being final point of contact for high-priority incident calls.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance and health of the organisation's Oceania Windows Server Environment.
- Knowledge base documentation
- Will be part of the On-Call roster within the Server/Platform team supporting high-severity incidents.
- Represent the team in the Technical and Business CAB
- Manage critical incidents during hyper care period of a certain line of business
We are looking for you to be an experienced Engineer with a solid background on current technologies. We are always looking at ways of improving how we work; therefore, you'll be somebody who is an innovative thinker with real attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
You will be a supportive team player, with the ability to build effective working relationships with individuals across varying locations, and level of technical aptitude.
Key skills that you'll have:
- Extensive experience:
- Experience in managing server workloads on virtual platforms such as VMWare ESXi/vSphere, AHV and/or MS Hyper-V
- Hyperconverged (Nutanix, CISCO UCS or similar)
- Administering Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP
- Hardware Troubleshooting & Support
- Strong knowledge of:
- Managing server workloads on virtual platforms such as VMWare Microsoft using Power shell scripting
- Enterprise Back-up solution (Rubrik or similar)
- Network Technologies and concepts (Switching, Routing, Load balancing, etc)
- Enterprise Antivirus Products (Crowdstrike, Trend or similar)
- Microsoft Exchange/Office 365
- Storage (SAN / NAS) concepts
- Relevant certifications are highly regarded
- Relevant experience in Azure IaaS/PaaS is highly regarded
- A strong understanding of ITIL environments (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Work collaboratively, share responsibilities, provide backup support to other team members in the areas of infrastructure deployment, support and maintenance, and provide professional support to team members as required.
