SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

Wards Accounting Group is excited to be looking for our team’s next Senior Accountant.
Our Company
Wards Accounting Group is the largest provider of taxation services in the Macarthur district. We have been providing Accounting and Financial services to the local community for over 50 years, and have built our reputation providing personalised service and a commitment to building long term relationships with our clients. We offer a large range of services for corporations, large and small investors and individuals, including tax returns, taxation advice and compliance, SMSF's, financial planning and audit services.
The role
This is a key role reporting into the Senior Partner of the firm. You will be working as part of a team delivering a high standard of taxation advice and a range of business and personal accounting services to our clients. You will be responsible for effectively managing a portfolio of clients across a range of entities, building client relationships and communicating with clients both over the phone and in a face to face setting.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, service focused, and committed accounting professional that can contribute to the ongoing success of Wards Accounting.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have extensive Australian professional practice experience gained in a taxation environment;
- Have knowledge and experience preparing financials and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts;
- Be fully qualified or working towards CA/CPA qualifications with a minimum 5 years experience working across a broad range of clients;
- Display high level communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Be client focused, have the ability to build strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service;
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Have a high attention to detail;
- Work well both within a team and independently;
- Have a proficient working knowledge of Handisoft (preferred but not essential), Xero and MYOB
- Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
