This role provides services into all sectors as required.
About the Role:This role is responsible for organising and supervising the undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the College of Sport, Health and Engineering within the Biomechanics, Motor Learning and Skilled Performance disciplines. The successful candidate will also be required to ensure the provision of laboratory services to students and staff that facilitate the achievement of high quality learning, research experiences and safety in the workplace.This is a continuing full-time (1 FTE) 36.75 hours per week continuing position, at a HEP 6 Classification Level, Salary range of $85,667 per annum - $92,728 per annum, plus 17% Superannuation.
Duties:An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Set up and manage all activities in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research laboratories with the aid of all necessary equipment and facilities for research trials, teaching and consultancy activities within Biomechanics, Motor Learning and Skilled Performance disciplines.
- Develop and implement safe operating procedures and practices for equipment and processes which will ensure the on-site safety of the workplace.
- Communicating OHS policies, training and policy adherence to academic and teaching staff.
- Assist, advise and contribute to the Risk Assessment process with subject lecturers and academics on the preparation of risk assessments for laboratory and or field practical's.
- Responsible for regular maintenance, repair and calibration of equipment and instrumentation in the College's laboratories.
- Ensure equipment is up to standard and that laboratory quality control and accreditation procedures are maintained.
- In collaboration with other University departments, ensure that all Biosafety, OHS, Chemical management and associated policies and procedures are developed and implemented.
- Ensure all highly technical and specialised pieces of equipment operators are appropriately trained
