Integrated Transport Planning and Design
The position sits within the Integrated Transport Planning and Design department. The primary focus of this department is to plan, manage and design the region's integrated transport network consistent with Council's corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies.
About the Opportunity:
As our Senior Technical Officer - Transport Planning you will provide technical advice and project support in the delivery of transport planning projects including council’s accessible schools program with a focus on road safety, and accessibility and travel behaviour improvements of schools to meet the needs of the community.
You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with key stakeholders including Queensland State Government, internal and external stakeholders to ensure service deliverables and best value integrated transport outcomes are achieved in line with Council’s long term strategic vision.
You will engage with a variety of professional across council and be able to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.
In addition, you’ll:
- provide technical advice and support relating to transport planning projects including the council’s accessible school program to drive integrated and sustainable outcomes
- undertake site investigations, develop and prepare concept plans for capital works projects and assist with the implementation of integrated transport initiatives consistent with Council’s strategic transport policies.
- offer input into the preparation of the annual capital works program to seek prompt delivery of integrated transport projects
- respond to allocated customer service requests in a timely manner ensuring that customer responses are well drafted and consistent with good community outcomes.
This role is a Senior position within the team which will give you opportunity to guide, coach and mentor other team members and be mentored by your leaders.
About you:
We are seeking someone who has an innovative mindset with collaborative approach to team work and problem solving. You will have experience in providing technical advice in relation to integrated transport, infrastructure and land use solutions.
You will have knowledge of transport engineering and design, travel demand management principles, travel behaviour change programs and techniques, and accessibility projects as well as experience in the use of Australian Standards and design guidelines relevant to the design of transport and public realm infrastructure.

A Degree in civil engineering, transport planning or equivalent is desirable and you will have a General Induction Licence (White Card).
