The Opportunity -

Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Senior Technical Officer/FSR - Structural/Mechanicalto join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program. In this role you will you will provide sustainment engineering support to the EC-135 Helicopter fleet to achieve the mission of training pilots, aircrew and aviation warfare officers for the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army. The successful candidate will ideally possess knowledge and understanding of Army's rotary wing environmental structure and capability.
This role will be based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.
As a Senior Technical Officer/FSR - Structural/Mechanicalwithin BDA, you will
- Working in a collaborative multi-disciplined team environment to support the continuing airworthiness of the HATS EC-35 helicopter fleet;
- Responding to Technical Queries raised by maintenance and support staff;
- Providing a conduit between the EC-135 maintenance team and engineering support;
- Conducting technical analysis, flight safety reviews, investigations and develop modifications and repairs related to aircraft structural, mechanical and propulsion systems;
- Analysing structural and engine data in support of the structural integrity program;
- Interpreting Technical Information (TI) and generating requisite engineering outputs;
- Conducting technical investigations
- Assessing and amending aviation publications and instructions; and
- Generating and maintaining solutions to ensure our fleets' airworthiness in the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Qualifications in engineering or equivalent technical experience in a Structural/Mechanical discipline. (e.g. Cert IV in Aviation)
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Experience in an aviation maintenance environment
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
