Senior Treasury Accountant

My client, operating within the Energy Industry is looking for a Senior Treasury Accountant to join their team on a short-term basis. This role will sit under ‘The Group Accounting & Governance’ business unit.
 
The Group Accounting & Governance team is responsible for Group related accounting and the general ledger, financial governance, and policies. Group related accounting covers accounting for the parent entity, treasury, investments, and various other Group related activities. This team plays a key role to ensure any Group wide items are appropriately accounted for and there are controls & governance in place across the wider finance team.

Responsibilities:
 

• Assist new Treasury Management System implementation project work, including setting up hedge accounting relationships, performing reconciliations and results validation
• Treasury accounting including hedge accounting and external interest calculations and ensure treasury reconciliations are prepared and reflected accurately in the General Ledger
• Coordinate the offshore team for transactional banking and reconciliation
• Prepare pro forma FY disclosure packs for Treasury financial instruments note and OFR disclosures
• Documenting the Treasury accounting function process and continue to drive process efficiencies and implement improvements

 
Requirements:

• Treasury accounting knowledge including hedge accounting
• Experience with Treasury Management System FIS Quantum or GTreasury
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills – able to interact effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Attention to detail – delivers high quality outputs and deliverables
• Ability to work autonomously
• Commercial – able to look beyond the numbers and understand commercial drivers and desired outcomes
• Qualified accountant (CA/CPA)
• SAP system knowledge (preferred)
• Exposure to the Energy industry (preferred)
