Position Title: Senior Urban Planner (Maternity Leave Cover)
Contract Type: Minimum 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Town Planner to join our team on a maternity leave cover basis. This position offers a minimum 12-month contract, with the flexibility of part-time or full-time employment options to accommodate your preferences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of a degree in town planning or other suitable discipline.
- Experience in both public and private sectors highly regarded.
- Experience within the Land Development Industry is desirable with understanding of the following areas – planning scheme amendments, planning permit applications, ResCode assessments, general development processes.
- Excellent communication, technical and problem solving skills.
- Sound skills in MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Urban Planner is required to control the delivery of projects and managing processes to ensure quality, correctness and deliverables of the project are achieved.
- The Urban Planner is to build and maintain a technical knowledge at the forefront of industry to ensure they carry out their work in a competent, effective and efficient manner.
- The Urban Planner will prepare planning scheme amendments, planning permit applications, submissions to VCAT, submissions to Planning Panels Victoria and expert evidence.
- The Urban Planner is required to ensure projects are undertaken in a competent, efficient and profitable manner.
- Working with the team to ensure clients requirements and time frames are satisfied.
- The Urban Planner will support the Director of Planning & Urban Design, and other senior staff to promote the urban planning and urban design role within the business and identify new opportunities.
Technical
- Maintain a level of technical expertise at the forefront of the land development industry.
- Attend designated courses and training sessions aimed at maintaining a high level of technical expertise in planning.
- Participate in industry activities to keep abreast of industry changes, new products, innovative techniques, etc.
- Provide input to the process and delivery of technical excellence in design, and control of work produced by the Company.
- Contribute to Company policy review to ensure soundness of approach and efficiency for projects undertaken within the group.
- Make responsible decisions under the review of the Director.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all project activities are undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Company quality system.
