The Opportunity

As a senior stakeholder Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transmission projects and renewable energy zones under the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF). As a key part of a large and supportive engagement team, you will represent the unique perspectives and interests of the Barwon South West region as VicGrid develops a long-term plan for the renewable energy transition.
With your knowledge of the Barwon South West region and your belief in meaningful stakeholder engagement, you will ensure the voice of the community is heard where and when it counts, contributing to sustainable renewable energy infrastructure that aligns with community values and preferences.
You will embrace best-practice, collaborative approaches to engagement which build long-term trust and earn social acceptance. You will foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors including local governments, industry, and community groups, as well key partners, Traditional Owners and First People communities.
Your work will contribute to supporting regional and rural communities to protect local priorities and see benefits from the renewable energy transition.

- Evaluate engagement activities for improvement.

- A background in stakeholder engagement, with experience on complex, regional or energy projects valued
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to understand underlying concerns and foster genuine interaction
- Experience in managing projects or events
- Proficiency in developing promotional and communication materials
- An ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on joint goals.

For this particular vacancy, priority consideration applies to Victorian Public Service (VPS) and select employees of the Victorian Public Sector who apply through the Jobs and Skills Exchange (JSE) jobs board platform.
Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check.
To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Should there be an opportunity for an ongoing appointment, these will only be available to an Australian/New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
This role will also require some overnight travel, as well as a requirement to work out of hours. This includes evening or weekend work where we perform our important work engaging with our regional communities.

This is a fixed term position available for a two-year fixed term contract. The work location is 30-38 Little Malop St, Geelong 3220, with flexibility for an alternate location within the Barwon South West Region subject to agreement. Hybrid work arrangements are also available.
