Job Description  

The Senior Wells Engineer/Supervisor (CWI) is responsible for leading operational planning and execution activities for the completion phase of the Crux project as well as all intervention requirements within the project.  

The Crux project will be delivered in two parts; the Wells will be delivered from a Semi-Submersible and then suspended. After the installation of the substructure and topsides the wells will be completed using a Hydraulic Workover Unit to deploy the tieback risers and completion. The wells will be perforated using Coiled Tubing followed by a clean up to a temporary well test spread.  

He/She is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the engineering integrating the team with relevant stakeholders in delivering successful operations. The Senior Wells Engineer/Supervisor (CWI) will be responsible for deliverables within the execute phase of the Crux GWDP. Accountabilities include:  

Health, Safety & Environment  

• Provide exemplary HSSE Supervision and Leadership with regards to on-site preparation and execution  

of all Completion and Well Intervention activities.  

• Site supervision and management of contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with  

Company standards.  

• Ensure all well work programmes are executed safely, and that all major risks have been identified and  

mitigated.  

• Ensure that HSSE has the highest priority during the preparation and execution of Completion and Well  

Intervention work programmes and that safety management tools are fully utilised to minimise risk (e.g.,  

Risk assessments, Assist and Assure programme, line off fire assessments, DROPS assessments, Red zone  

management, toolbox talks, permit to work system, Intervention culture etc)  

• Ensure all incidents, accidents and near misses are appropriately reported and are subject to the  

required level of investigation where necessary.  

• Ensures full Wellsite compliance with the Company HSSE policies and procedures as detailed in the  

Safety Management System, HSSE Standards and all other Company HSSE documentation.  

Planning and Organisation  

• Supervision of (and/or participation in) onshore/offsite trials, Surface integrity tests (SITs) and  

equipment stack up tests as required. Supervise sub-assembly make up, integrity testing and quality  

checks of all completions related components to be deployed.  

• Ensure Completion & Well Intervention work programmes are fit for purpose and are fully understood  

by all personnel by participating in (either in the office or on site) CWOP’s, pre-phase meetings,  

workshops etc.  

• Liaise and communicate with the project and asset personnel (as may be required) to facilitate efficient  

preparation and execution of well work programmes.  

• Efficiently manage Completion & Well Intervention resources to maximise production, minimise  

expenditure, and to facilitate timely cost-effective execution of all Completion and Well Intervention  

activities.  

• Ensure accurate storage of information and data relating to Well files and well data, in line with  

Company procedures.  

Operations  

• Supervision of the safe and efficient execution of Completions activities and work programmes, ensuring  

that all company policies and procedures are fully adhered to.  

• Supervises the contractor and service personnel to ensure all work performed conforms to safety,  

quality, and highest value requirements and in accordance with the well programme.  

• Supervises all platform related online & offline activities as when required.  

• Ensure adherence to change control procedures in the event of programme amendments.  

• Report and liaise daily with the Company CSU Lead at the wellsite.  

• Provides sufficient, accurate & timely data to office-based operations support.  

• Integrate and liaise with other disciplines and departments to ensure efficient and effective execution of Completion & Well Intervention work programmes.  

• Ensure accurate daily reporting of all Completion & Well Intervention activities into approved Company Wells reporting medium.  

• Ensure implementation of accurate cost monitoring of all offshore or wellsite Completion & Well Intervention activities.  

• Co-ordinates the timely supply of required equipment, consumables, and specialist services to ensure uninterrupted continuation of completions operations at the wellsite. Ensure safe and efficient backload of equipment and personnel on completion of operations.  

• Ensure After Action Reviews (AARs) are carried out and all lessons learned are captured & shared from execution of Completions activities, in line with Company Well Delivery Process.  

• Ensures activity end of well reports, certificate of fitness and well records are prepared and documented properly as part of the well hand over process.  

Key Challenges  

• Provide technical completion and Well Intervention, expertise and capability to the Wells and project  

team.  

• Capture learnings and standard practices rollout to teams for implementation during execution phase.  

• Manage multiple equipment and people interfaces to deliver job program objectives.  

• Integration of local vendors into ways of working and maintain key stakeholder relationship.  

Requirements:  

• Extensive experience (10-15 years) in Completion and Well Intervention or Well Engineering with a proven  

track record in CWI planning and execution delivery.  

• Recent experience with the following areas is strongly desired.  

o Subsea Tieback Installation  

o Hydraulic Work Over Unit start-up,  

o Upper Completion Installation  

o Coil tubing perforation,  

o high-rate gas well test clean-up operations.  

• Strong stakeholder integration and influencing skills with proven ability to build effective relationships.  

• Strong HSSE Leadership  

• IWCF Well Control Level 4 certification
