The Service Advisor role is to support the team and grow the technical knowledge within the Service Department. The position is a part of the Service Leadership Team and will support the Manager, Supervisor(s), Coordinator(s) and Leading Hand(s) with a strong safety and learning culture.
The Service Advisor will be responsible to foster and encourage a growth and learning culture amongst the team while sharing their knowledge with the team and wider business; this will require them to work on & support tasks to allow team members gain valuable experience.
To help build the technical knowledge of the team, the Service Advisor collaborates closely with the Service Manager to devise strategic plans for training and development tailored specifically to the technical aspects.
The Service Advisor will be expected to travel to customer sites with Service Technicians to provide technical support on an ad-hoc basis.
Duties
- Responsible for Training & Development of the team through desk top and hands on activities
- Support Coordinators in job planning, scoping, scheduling & procurement
- Support Coordinators & Sales in estimating jobs
- Support Hydraulic Technicians in job execution including:
- Troubleshooting systems
- Testing Components
- Testing Systems
- Strip & Assess
- Rebuilding Equipment
- Responsible for the technical development of the apprentices
- NATA Technical Manager to support AFP’s pressure testing activities.
- Review and sign off component technical documentation (Certifications)
- Participate in pre-starts & daily leadership meetings
- Support QC check jobs during execution & prior to goods being dispatched
- Present solutions to fix “Road Blocks” or improve the way our client operates
- Develop tools and methods to aid in training & development
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of the team and communicate to the Workshop Leadership Team.
- Ensure AFP policies and procedures are understood and upheld by all personnel
- Demonstrate high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
Experience, Qualifications and Clearances8 years relevant industry experience (Hydraulics)
Trade Qualification – Cert. III Mechanical Fitter - Essential
“C” Class Drivers license - Essential
Forklift ticket - Essential
White Card - Essential
Confined space ticket - Desirable
Cert IV in Fluid Power - Desirable
Product Training Course - Desirable
Training & Assessing Cert IV - Desirable
Working at Heights - Desirable
