SA Police are seeking a Service Desk Officer to join on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Your new company
The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of the ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Program Delivery team is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects.
Your new role
The Service Desk Officer is accountable for the provision of effective first level ICT advice and support to all areas of SAPOL, providing a customer centric function to support end users to effectively utilise technology to undertake their role.
You will contribute to the effective service delivery by providing first point of contact resolution of user incidents and service request in relation to: hardware, software and the network, Windows, MS Office, Lan/'WAN, printers and applications and provisioning access to systems and printers.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a customer service environment directly responsible for resolving clients' ICT incidents and requests; and effectively managing multiple tasks without direct supervision.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people from technical and non-technical backgrounds and to share technical knowledge and skills with colleagues.
- Well-developed keyboard skills in relation to speed, accuracy, and formatting.
- Sound knowledge of networks, and of multiple hardware platforms (including PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones); computer operating systems and common PC software applications and desktop peripheral equipment.
- The IS&T facilities being supported are in use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, therefore some out of hours may be required from time to time.
- The Service Desk is staffed (on a roster) between 0800hours and 1700hours Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays).
- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
Special Conditions:
Some out-of-hours work, and intra/interstate travel may be required.
Salary:
ASO3 - $66,590 - 70,968 per annum + superannuation
