About the roleCatherine's House is searching for a casual
Service Support Officer to join our a world-class, perinatal, and infant mental health integrated service.
Catherine's House provides both inpatient and outpatient services to public and private consumers. The inpatient unit is a state-wide unit that provides acute perinatal mental health assessment and treatment to parents with significant and complex mental health conditions.The consumer will be co-admitted with their baby (under one year old). There are 8 public beds and 2 private beds, with 2 of the public beds having capacity to be a high dependency unit. The public beds are an Authorised Mental Health Service. The
Service Support Officer (SSO) will work closely with the clinical and administration staff of
Catherine's House. Our SSO's can work up to 12hr shifts and we are looking for someone with availability from 0645hrs to 2100hrs, across 7 days a week.This position may be required to work across any Mater Health Service when there is organisational need.Salary range: $28.44 - $29.71 (OO3) per hour plus superannuation
What you'll be doingThe role of the
Service Support Officer (SSO) is to support staff that are providing mental health treatment to parents and infants admitted to
Catherine's House.The key responsibility of this role is to perform tasks as scheduled in various areas of
Catherine's House and provide support to ensure a safe, efficient cleaning service to Clarence Street. These tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness, and safety within Catherine's House
- Ensure stock of cleaning items are checked and replenished
- Removal of rubbish
- Participation in food preparation and delivery
- Report any health and safety risks to the NUM or Nurse in Charge
- Transportation of pathology specimens when required
About youTo be considered suitable for this role you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a health or community setting would be desirable
- Current Food Safety Certificate
- Current Blue Card / Working with Children Check
- Possession of a “C” class drivers licence
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Promote a positive team spirit and be a contributing team member
- Take appropriate action to positively resolve problems - “think outside the box”
