Reporting into Melbourne but based in Shepparton, this role focuses on routine maintenance of existing Water Treatment Plants in the region, requiring daily travel to various sites and the occasional overnight stay in remote locations. You will receive training. As your skills/knowledge develop and you must be comfortable as the face of FILTEC as you work safely autonomously.
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair drinking water treatment systems, including filtration systems, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves, and other components.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks, inspections, and performance tests on water treatment systems to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical advice, and offer recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment maintenance logs, service reports, and client communication.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes to provide informed technical support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural ability to troubleshoot.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Advantageous:
- Proven experience as a Service Technician (or Water Treatment Operator)
- A background in the Water Industry
- Technical certification, trade or degree in a related field is desirable but not essential.
