Where you'll be working
Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) is the oldest sexual health service in NSW, operating since 1933. We are a busy centre offering testing, treatment and management for sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and HIV.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this position is to provide a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Sydney Sexual Health Centre of the Population and Community Health Directorate, to achieve its objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. Sydney Sexual Health Centre is one of the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus (SHBBV) services within SESLHD.

Provide a range of administrative and system support services to Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) Management Unit to enable SSHC to achieve its objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Selection Criteria * Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, while managing competing work priorities and work flow within allocated resources.

  • Demonstrated capacity to problem solve, take minutes, organise and facilitate meetings and show initiative in responding to and assisting with administrative requests from team/stream leaders.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills to liaise professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and judgement to bring a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computers and standard office software packages and the ability to coach others in their use.
  • Ability to work independently and with a demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork.
  • Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of staff with the ability to determine priorities for others, allocate tasks, coach and monitor work performance of staff to achieve work objectives.
