About the Role WorkPac are currently seeking an Project Coordinator to join our clients team. The position will be 8:6 roster for an initial 9-month duration, potential for extension.

This role will form part of our Shafts Project team, servicing internal clients through the construction of Ventilation Shafts across multiple sites as required. This role will be responsible for the delivery of work packages, and the management of contractors to complete the works. You will be required to liaise with site personnel and management; manage consultants as required and coordinate site works as required.

Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and lead contractors and consultants to complete delivery of works to complete shaft projects on time and within budget. Draft scopes of work and related documentation for the engagement of consultants and contractors.

Manage contractors in accordance with SMC requirements and independent site SHMS requirements. Assist with the mobilisation of contractors undertaking the approved site work. Review technical reports, design drawings, quantities, cost estimates, schedules and other deliverables to be able to manage the contractors for the completion of the works.

Participate in reviews (design, cost, schedule, value, constructability) and risk assessments (design, construction, quantitative cost/schedule, operation, and maintenance). Manage the performance and quality activities of the approved contractors and deliver against agreed targets and schedules, ensuring that jobs are completed in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure ongoing measurement, monitoring and reconciliation of work to facilitate achievement of the Shaft Projects Execution Plan.

Working collaboratively within the Shaft Projects team to identify opportunities to improve safe delivery of projects. Actively manage work to ensure the schedule and costs are met and within project scope of work requirements. Provide support and assistance to other members of the Shafts Project Team as required and to achieve a safe and effective outcome.

Ensure that effective and concise handover notes are completed and discussed for the handover of the information between the Shaft Team. Participate in the implementation of the project Safety and Health Management Plan. Participate in project risk assessments, assist with the development of risk mitigations and ensure that they are communicated and implemented across the Shaft team and contractors.

Skills & Experience Required: You will have a proven track record in the supervision and management of contractors, and construction management with extensive cross-disciplinary experience. You will have sound and competent verbal and written communication skills.

You will have experience in the construction of infrastructure on brownfield sites, including front line management. It is expected that your skills and experience would have been gained over at least 5 years in the mining and resources industries. Experience on coal mine sites and with report writing would be advantageous in this role.
