The community of Useless Loop has a small shop, library, mess, tavern, fuel, fortnightly doctors’ visits, on site MESO (Medical Emergency Services Officer) with a modern well-equipped medical centre, and a Primary School up to, and including Year 6.
The Duties: The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the below duties as well as additional duties: Coordinate, and schedule the activities and work performance of the mechanical maintenance team. Ensure accurate maintenance history records are maintained. Monitor mechanical teams’ progress and report any scheduling issues. Monitor, review and manage work practices to ensure quality standards and time commitments are met. Identify and source parts across a variety of fixed and mobile equipment. Order parts and consumables through the Pronto system Manage workplace safety and minimise risks to team members, the environment and company assets. Assist with the establishment of weekly maintenance plans in conjunction with the company’s maintenance planner and Production representatives. Manage timekeeping of Mechanical Maintenance Team. Authorise leave allocations and approve training assignments as necessary. Liaise with Operations and Administration departments to achieve required business outcomes. Conduct annual performance reviews of all mechanical maintenance team members. Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping. Work together with colleagues for the continuous improvement of asset maintenance systems and procedures, increasing equipment safety and reliability, work method efficiencies and the reduction of unit costs. Contribute to the development of annual maintenance budgets. Actively contribute to the organisation to produce quality salt, minimise costs, and maximise efficiency. About you: You will have experience in a multi disciplined, Mechanical Maintenance supervisory position relating to fixed and mobile plant within the mining or mineral processing industries. Be able to clearly identify priorities and follow approved maintenance plans. You will bring a comprehensive knowledge of mobile equipment Maintenance including Kenworth Road trains, Caterpillar dozers and graders and a wide variety of ancillary and support equipment, as well as large, fixed plant, bulk material handling infrastructure and ship loading facilities. Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance planning processes and long-term maintenance requirements. You will be able to analyse and predict trends and manipulate data within a computerised maintenance system. Be self-motivated and shows initiative. Have demonstrated experience in managing contractors. Preferably have a good understanding of Pronto or a similar EDP system. Demonstrated knowledge of statutory maintenance requirements as per the current Workplace Health and Safety legislation. Sound computer skills within MS Office suite. A demonstrated commitment to safety. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Consideration of both residential and commute working arrangements will be discussed at the time of interview. Free, unfurnished company housing will be available for this position if a residential option is preferred. Alternatively, a DIDO from within the Gascoyne region of WA or FIFO of Perth arrangement is also available.
