Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Trades Worker to join our dynamic team. The
successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing sheet metal
products using various tools and equipment. Tasks will include reading and interpreting engineering
drawings, measuring and marking out workpieces, cutting, shaping, and forming metal components,
as well as operating welding and brazing equipment to join parts together.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Measuring, marking out, and cutting metal sheets to size using shears, saws, or plasma
- cutters.
- Shaping and forming metal components using bending brakes, rollers, and other forming
- equipment.
- Operating welding equipment to join metal components using techniques such as MIG, TIG,
- and spot welding.
- Conducting quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal) or relevant qualification.
- Proven experience working as a Sheetmetal Trades Worker or similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to accurately measure and calculate dimensions.
- Experience operating sheet metal machinery and welding equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety procedures.
