BenefitsTask & ResponsibilitiesAs Sheetmetal Trades Worker within our demolition company, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient execution of demolition projects involving structures containing sheet metal components. You will be responsible for dismantling, removing and salvaging sheet metal materials from various structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. This role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship and will involve:
- Sheetmetal demolition
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Selecting various kinds of metal stock
- Operating hand tools, power tools and cutting equipment
- Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines
- Identifying salvageable sheet metal materials and components for potential reuse or recycling, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and compliance with environmental regulations
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
- Worksite coordination and collaboration with other demolition team members
Skills and experience
- Proven experience as a Sheetmetal Trades Worker or similar role in the construction, demolition or related industry
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Previous experience operating power tools and cutting equipment commonly used in sheet metal work
- High attention to detail with ability to work effectively in a team environment
Essential Criteria
- Relevant trade qualification (at least Cert III) OR at least 3 years of work experience may substitute formal qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experienceDemonstrated skills in handling of sheetmetal cutting tools
- Able to work unsupervised
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must have a current driver licence
Preferred but not essential
- Owns a vehicle
- Owns tools and equipment
- Current driver licence
