Site Engineer

As a Site Engineer, you are tasked to provide assistance to the Project Manager and Site Manager through the co-ordination of and attendance to on site construction activities. This will include assistance with procurement and managing procurement timeframes, method engineering, review of documents and document control, implementing and ensuring compliance with Hutchinson Builders’ Management Systems, and assisting the project team implement practical on-site solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and understudy the Project Team in ensuring compliance with Hutchinson Builders’ Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.  
• Assist with the monitoring of project performance, delivery schedules, cost estimates and procurement.
• Develop solutions to constructability problems by utilising technical capabilities.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with the project documents, specifications, and Hutchinson Builders’ Quality Management Systems.
• Ensure effective document and data control occurs in compliance with Hutchinson Builders Management Systems.
• Encourage and ensure the company’s continuous improvement system and culture is constantly growing.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Completed or completing tertiary qualifications in the respective field for this role (construction management, engineering or similar) 
• 2 years’ experience in commercial construction
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
• Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
• Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently.
• Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
• A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
