About the Role:
As a Site Engineer at Newlands, you will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of a civil construction project, including all project activities are in accordance with the contractual and safety requirements. Your responsibilities will involve a diverse portfolio of projects, including subdivisions, infrastructure, and bulk earthworks.
Key Duties:
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be required to:
- Conduct daily site inspections and overseeing onsite teams and plant, including subcontractors
- Manage construction planning, programming, and completion schedules
- Manage the procurement and allocation of necessary project resources
- Track project costs
- Manage Quality Assurance documentation
- Assist with end of month progress claims
- Preparate, submit and receipt of required permits, prior to commencing construction.
About You:
To be successful, you will require:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Civil Construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a General Construction Induction Card (Blue Card) or Work Safely in Construction Industry (White Card) is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills to effectively address challenges that may arise during project execution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance, including the ability to identify and rectify problems and prevent non-conformances.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage project tasks and meet deadlines.
