About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Site Manager, Technology Infrastructure to join the Snowy Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for contributing to the long-term performance and capability of Snowy Hydro's assets by providing management of site execution for projects to meet key Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements, project schedules and business needs.
Reporting to the Manager Communications & Networks, this role is the first point of contact in liaising with all internal and external parties during site works. You will be leading and driving site works preparatory/planning tasks as well as planning and supervising adherence to Quality outcome requirements including commissioning and return to service. Pivotal to this role is the adherence to Snowy Hydro's induction requirements and Industry safe work practice, confirming that appropriate certifications are held by all personnel attending the work site. Stakeholder management will come naturally to you, enabling effective liaison and communication with key internal and external Stakeholders during outage/site works, taking into account broader business drivers.
This role is based in Cooma NSW. For the purposes of site management, this role involves substantial travel across Snowy Hydro's sites located in NSW, South Australia and Victoria.
Key responsibilities
Arrange and participate in Right To Start reviews, ensuring these are carried out well before the planned outages and throughout the duration of the project siteworks.
Keep a close oversight on, and drive Contractors and Team HSE performance to align with Snowy Hydro's expectations.
Participate in Risk Assessment workshops, development of risk registers, noting appropriate controls and assurance actions.
Implement and monitor risk controls and undertake/report on assurance actions.
Ensure all required control actions for various emergency conditions (per Snowy Emergency Manual) are effectively in place during the site works.
Progress reporting on a daily basis against the plans.
Plan and coordinate use of shared resources for projects with other stakeholders e.g. EWPs, etc.
Manage Project Change Control for site works.
To be successful you will need:
A minimum of 5 years site management experience from inception to completion across varying and multiple large scale technology projects with complex and high risk components. Experience in Utilities is preferred but not essential.
Ability to work with autonomy and responsibility; and to work effectively both at site and remotely from site.
The ability to work both alone and as part of a team including as a leader as required, and including coaching others in site management and project execution issues.
Sound knowledge of Quality, OH&S, EEO and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.
Appropriate licences and training.
