LEICON NOTLEY, are a successful water infrastructure contractor working throughout Western Australia. Due to current and projected growth the company are currently looking for experienced Metal Trades Staff to join their team.
About the role
The successful applicant will report directly to the Operations Services Supervisor and will have a high level of attention to detail, quality and safety.
Tasks and Duties
- Read drawings and plans to confirm pipework arrangements
- Fit pipework in preparation for welding in workshop and on site
- Assemble pipework, couplings and valves on site
- Bolt up and torque flanged connections
- Installation of mechanical equipment and pumps
- Assist with erection of structural components and assemblies.
- Fit and join thermoplastic pipework
- Hydro test pipework after installation
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or similar
- 5 plus years Metal Trades experience
- Able to fit and weld steel and alloy pipework including complex arrangements
- Competence in reading technical drawings and plans (General arrangements, isometrics, PID’s).
- Ability and experience in assembly of pipework and associated equipment
- Experience with plastic pipework fabrication and installation
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Sound communication skills.
- An attitude of "Safety First" backed up by solid experience delivering safe and reliable work.
- Flexible and keen attitude
- Must be able and willing to work away when required
- Clean C class drivers licence
Desirable
- Water and wastewater infrastructure experience
- Experience in location and installation of underground piping and buried services.
- Experience in structural fabrication and assembly works
- High risk licence / Plant operation / WAH & CSE Qualifications / HR or MR licence
- Reasonable computer literacy
