The Department of Social Work within The Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides comprehensive Social Work services as an integral part of its health care delivery system.Employment Term
- Permanent full-time and part-time (multiple positions, hours variable).
- Wage rate ranges between $2941.70 - $4459.00 p.f. (full-time) or $38.70 - $58.67 p.h. (part-time) (HP3)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading

- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Roster: The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in rotation across clinical areas and campuses, On-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical On-call Roster, which requires a 30 minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night), as well as weekends and public holidays.
- Demonstrated competent level of knowledge of social work practice theories, social legislation and a competent level of expertise and skill in social work clinical practice.
- Demonstrated ability to provide general clinical advice to multidisciplinary team members regarding social work services and to engage in, develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with team members and peers.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and exercise risk management where customer risk is identified, by utilising evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in the planning and evaluation of local service improvement initiatives and contribute to student skill enhancement.
- Demonstrated ability to be resilient within a dynamic, at times somewhat chaotic environment that can be stressful.
