As a Software Engineering Lead
You will be responsible for providing technical guidance, advice and expertise to the Solution Delivery developers, helping the team to achieve the successful delivery of quality solutions.
- Contribute, guide and review the development of detailed technical designs
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate high-level designs into production software
- Choose suitable programming languages, frameworks, design patterns and tools for application development
- Provide support to the development of the overall Solution Delivery technical capability including sharing knowledge, coaching, mentoring and participating in recruitment activities where required
- Optimise the developer experience through the adoption of software development best practices, processes, and tools, ensuring that applications produced are scalable, efficient and have maintainable code
- Establish and lead the Solution Delivery Software Engineering Practice Group. Identify and implement continuous improvements for DevOps
- Be the escalation point for trouble shooting production issues, identify root causes and follow up through to resolution.
Essential
- Extensive experience in software development and engineering and leading teams in this discipline
- Extensive commercial experience in a selection of the following: Microsoft .NET (C#), Azure PaaS, SQL Server, JavaScript (Angular, React, Knockout), Azure DevOps, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WCF, Sitefinity, Dynamics 365/Power Platform, Azure Data Platform, Python
- Extensive experience with relational databases generally, and SQL Server and PostgreSQL specifically
- Solid experience in system and data security
- Experience with container products such as Docker
- Demonstrable experience in developing scalable, robust and high performing IT systems
- Thorough understanding of modern development principals and tools and their practical application
- Experience with Microservices
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Exposure to infrastructure design concepts e.g. virtualisation & containerization, cloud services, monitoring.
- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
- Exposure or knowledge of Svelte
