About the position
As a Solar Design Engineer reporting to the Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in
the end-to-end management of solar projects, spanning from sales to construction and
commissioning. Your responsibilities include producing technical drawings, analysing projects,
creating Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring compliance, and maintaining a systematic approach to
large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
● Collaborate with the sales team in pre-sale operations, providing technical support.
● Develop detailed technical drawings and designs for solar systems.
● Analyse projects to ensure alignment with site/system particulars.
● Develop comprehensive BOM and documentation for installation.
● Review and assess the final technical design, making modifications as necessary.
● Proactively identify and address potential difficulties before the installation phase.
● Ensure projects comply with relevant standards and certifications.
● Develop and maintain a systematic approach, particularly for large-scale projects.
● Oversee post-sale operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within
budget.
● Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Apply creative thinking to find the best technical and commercial solutions.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
● Accredited designer by Clean Energy Council is not essential but would be beneficial
● Autocad skills are desirable
● Minimum 12 months technical work experience working on Solar PV Design
● Strong knowledge of solar technology, industry regulations, and best practices.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
● Proficiency in using CRM tools and other relevant software.
