THE ROLE

The Regional South Solicitor in the Child Protection Litigation Office (CPLO) is responsible for providing state-wide legal advice, support and representation in child protection litigation matters in the Children's Court of Victoria and associated courts.

The position will involve travel to regional Children's Courts and Child Protection Offices and may require intrastate travel to attend/appear at courts in metro locations across Victoria to support the department and its clients. You will work predominantly with one of CPLO's metropolitan/regional legal teams, however, in accordance with clause 19 of the VPS Agreement (where applicable), you may be asked to join a different team where business operations require this.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Provide well-reasoned legal advice, briefings and correspondence.
Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver client focused legal services.
Appear or instruct in litigation involving the department in a wide range of courts and tribunals.
