Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Legal/Administrative Assistant & Personal Assistant in full time role (or potentially part time for the right candidate).
This role will be instrumental in providing administrative support to our legal team while also assisting the principal of the firm in their day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and memos.
- Assist with file management, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical files.
- Compile briefs for proceedings.
- Assist with billing and invoicing tasks, including preparing client invoices and tracking payments.
- Act as a liaison between clients, lawyers, and other staff members, ensuring effective communication and timely responses.
- Provide personal assistance to the principal of the law firm, including managing personal appointments, handling correspondence and errands.
- Assist with other general office tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases and software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
