Walter's Steakhouse is currently looking for motivated and experienced Full Time and Casual Sommeliers to add strength to our expanding wine program. Walter's Steakhouse has an excellent reputation for our wine selection and service of each specially chosen bottle.
Skills and requirements:
- Support the Head Sommelier in curating and updating the Walters wine list.
- Recommend food and wine pairings based on patron personal tastes and food choices.
- Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and with proper glassware.
- Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste.
- Support the Head Sommelier to train wait staff on available wines and appropriate service techniques through structured in-house training programs.
- Support the Head Sommelier to organise wine tasting events.
- Support the front of house team during service through the provision of additional ad hoc duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain beverage lists to be accurate, up to date and free of errors.
- Open or close the venue as required.
