Sous Chef (Full Time)

Pomona Distilling Co is about a community that looks after each other, it’s about bringing the world to Pomona and creating a concept and product that is focused on quality as we nurture the journey from grain to glass and paddock to plate. 

Open 4 days for lunch and dinner, (Wednesday - Saturday) and Lunch on Sundays; the restaurant serves modern bistro food with flair and is carefully crafted to pay homage to fresh local produce with our menu utilizing our in-house smokers and offering Gastro Pub style Cuisine.  

We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations on a full-time salaried basis; with an upcoming expansion planned there are endless opportunities to grow within the company.

Key responsibilities: 

• Drive and oversee quality and standards of food in service
• Drive standards of cleaning and Health & Safety regulations
• Join a motivated and happy kitchen team
• Assist with menu creativity and design
• Assist in the management of food and labour costs
• Assist in management of the kitchen roster
• Liaise with front of house to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Maintain standards in absence of Head Chef

To be considered, you’ll have the following skills/expertise:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
• Full food safety and hygiene knowledge
• Fast paced technical skills
• Be able to work in a structured team environment
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions
• Experience with functions catering (an advantage)
