THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic transport professional to fill the position of Southwest Regional Transport Manager operating out of our Bunbury Depot.WHY US?Attractive remuneration package is on offer for the suitable applicant.Supportive working environment, focused on professional development.Work that will expand on your logistics knowledge and experience with a leading WA provider of temperature-controlled logistics.THE ROLE The position’s primary purpose is to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the business’s Southwest regional depot operations through effective people management, coordinating the day-to-day transport of all freight services and equipment movements throughout our Southwest Regional depots.It requires an experienced energetic transport professional who leads from the front, is “hands on " with strong people management, communication and organisational skills with a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability for the rosters, schedules, planning and the timely departures of all Sth West regional freight movements and warehousing requirements ensuring our regional customers delivery windows are continuously met.Ideally suited for someone who has successfully managed a pick-up and delivery operations involving a fleet of both rigid and articulated vehicles, with a passion for safety and customer service. Key ResponsibilitiesCoordination of the operational aspects of the business’s regional storage and transport operations – Ensuring delivery on our service promise by ensuring all delivery targets are met Ensuring all regional freight received and departing is in full with all appropriate and correct documentation.Ensuring storge and warehousing of customers’ freight is in accordance with company SOP.Management of the rosters and schedules ensuring adequate resource utilisation for maximum efficiency and cover for absenteeism (annual, personal leave periods and for relief coverage of other depots) Ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported immediately and the corrective actions are acted upon and closed out in a timely manner.Ensure all Non-conformances (NCR’s) / service failures are investigated and corrective actions are acted upon and closed out in a timely mannerEnsuring compliance with driver fatigue and chain of responsibility legislationThe Job RequirementsTo be considered and successful in this role, it is essential applicants have:Essential proven and demonstratable people management, leadership and team development experience Minimum 5 year's demonstrated experience in a similar role within transport managing a fleet of vehicles and drivers.Demonstrated understanding of the legislation and laws relating to the operation of heavy vehicles, transportation, fatigue management and vehicle weight restrictions.Strong understanding and application of OHS legislation and safety leadership.Flexible with start times and work hoursAbility and willingness to travel and visit / stay at other regional depots on a regular basis. To be supportive with a " hands on" work attitude to work toward common goals with team members.Demonstrate a strong and positive teamwork attitude.Good analytical, reporting, planning skills for efficient route and load planning with high attention to detail and cost management.Demonstrable competencies to include, integrity and trust, leadership, excellent organisational skills, coaching and mentoring team building skills.Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and deal with multiple activities simultaneously.Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.Well-developed communication and time management skills.This is an exciting role where the successful applicant will have an opportunity to further their career with a leading WA provider of temperature-controlled transport & logistics.An attractive remuneration package is on offer dependent upon the skills, experience and achievements that the successful applicant can demonstrate and .
