Project Officer - Building Projects
- Salary Range (Band 6) $93,459 – $101,873 plus 11% Super
- Full time Permanent
- Located at St Kilda Town Hall or with flexible working arrangements possible
About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. About the Role
Provide administrative and technical support to members of the building team on a wide variety of exciting projects across the vibrant municipality of Port Phillip. Ensuring the Building Projects team delivers high quality capital projects on time and within agreed budgets. Support the delivery of specific projects and the project portfolio, with respect to Council’s processes, policies and EPMO framework.
Duties
- Provide support to members of the Building Projects team in contract administration and project management processes.
- Provide support into the planning, management, and delivery of capital projects within allocated time, quality and budget constraints and in line with the EPMO framework and Council’s standards, policies, relevant codes and industry practice.
- Carry out contract management and works supervision of capital works projects in compliance with council policies, relevant codes, Australian Standards, and industry best practice. Delivering projects within allocated time and budget. Manage the delivery of assigned tasks on time and within budget in line within organisational requirements. Support, input to and monitor consultation with external and internal parties in respect to assigned projects.
- Report regularly to the Head of Building Projects – Construction on updates on assigned projects, and on matters of a sensitive, political nature, thereby assisting in meeting Council’s object.
Skills and Experience
- Formal qualification(s) in a relevant discipline (construction management, project management, quantity surveying, architecture, engineering or equivalent discipline).
- Previous experience administering, managing and delivering construction projects from design development to construction management and supervision through to handover and defect management.
- Knowledge of project management systems and other relevant computer applications and software.
- Formal project management certification or training would be advantageous.
- Experience in delivery of municipal capital projects would be advantageous.
