Exciting Opportunity for a Special Counsel in Estate Planning and Commercial Solutions. We are seeking a seasoned lawyer to join our distinguished client’s commercial and private team. You will provide clients with expert advice in estate planning, self-managed superannuation, asset protection, structuring, and succession planning, along with broader commercial solutions.

Salary: $170,000 to $200,000 (Open to Negotiate)

The Role:

Ideal candidates will be passionate about estate and succession planning. Experience with family trusts and self-managed superannuation funds is crucial. You will be expected to deeply understand your clients, their families, and their businesses to offer practical, commercially viable solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering strategic advice on asset protection and succession for high-net-worth clients, addressing both personal estates and business assets
• Overseeing succession and estate planning for businesses and structures, including family trusts and SMSFs
• Managing intricate asset protection matters, including establishing and maintaining a variety of asset structures such as testamentary trusts, family trusts, and SMSFs
• Drafting and planning comprehensive Wills
• Handling general and Enduring Powers of Attorney
• Navigating tax considerations in estate planning

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years PAE in a well-regarded firm
• Expertise in estate and succession planning matters
• Experience drafting wills, testamentary trusts, enduring Powers of Attorney, trust deed variations, and binding death benefit nominations
• Proficiency in handling businesses and structures such as family trusts and SMSFs for succession planning
• Ability to provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice - Proven capability to mentor team members
• Pragmatic, outcome-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and manage competing time frames effectively
• General commercial legal experience is advantageous
