About Us
St Mary’s Cathedral is the spiritual home of Sydney’s Catholic community, and is the seat of the Archbishop of Sydney. Not only is St Mary’s Cathedral a great legacy from the past, it is a vital part of the present spiritual and cultural life of the city of Sydney and the nation. St Mary’s Cathedral Precinct (Precinct) is located in Sydney’s CBD and incorporates the Cathedral, Cathedral House, the Crypt, surrounding grounds and associated operations. St Mary’s Cathedral is currently seeking a candidate to fill the permanent full time role of Admin Assistant – Liturgy & Social Media.
About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Social Media platforms, operate and run the livestreaming of Masses and services, offer support to resident clergy and the front office with general admin, support in the cathedral shop and if possible support in the sacristy. This position is required to create positive relationships with, clergy, staff, customers, volunteers and the community.
This is a permanent position working a standard 38-hour week, working Wednesday to Sunday.
The duties of the Special Liturgy, Sacristy & Social Media Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:
- Overseeing the running and management of Social Media platforms
- Managing the delivery of livestreaming of Masses and special services
- Efficiently and effectively assist with admin work
- Assist with retail sales in the Cathedral shop
About You
The ideal candidate should satisfy the following selection criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church and its Tradition
- Understanding of Social Media platforms and strategies to increase audience connection
- Understanding of standard audio visual equipment and livestreaming via YouTube channel
- Ability to multi-task and work in high volume work environments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated commitment to client services and;
- A willingness to be accountable for their performances
