The Library is seeking to fill the newly created position of Program Assistant, Social Media and Communications (APS 4) in the Communication and Marketing Section on an ongoing basis.
This is an on-site role, located in Canberra.
The key duties of the position include
To support the National Library's active Social Media program and maintain a positive brand reputation, you will provide support functions including:
- Monitoring and reporting on Social Media discussion and trends, identifying and addressing any potential issues
- Respond effectively to enquiries as part of the moderation activities. This may include some out of hours event moderation tasks.
- Cultivate online communities, fostering a sense of belonging among followers.
- Writing platform specific copy for Social Media and digital marketing strategies.
- Ensuring monthly content calendar is appropriately populated.
You will also provide analysis of performance metrics measuring the effectiveness of Social Media campaigns, content and community engagement.
In this role you will help identify, build and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships when providing administrative support.
As Program Manager, Social Media and Communications you will assist with the coordination, planning and scheduling of content including proofreading and copy editing of communication products. You will provide support services to the section and branch including setting up online events, minute taking, maintaining calendars and payment processing.
Occasional out-of-hours work is required to support Library events and activities. The Library offers flexible working hours in accordance to support these requirements.
