About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Specialist Controls Engineer, Hybrid Energy to join a global consulting firm.
Working across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, the Specialist Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing leading technical engineering advice and expertise in hybrid control systems throughout all stages of off grid and on grid hybrid power system development. This will include hybrid control system solution identification, conceptualisation, specification and design and commissioning for hybrid systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Hybrid system architecture investigation incorporating control, RE, generation and enablers and load management
Maintain control expertise along with ongoing development of hybrid control systems and associated product development
Undertake in a technical engineering capacity that may be associated with pre-feasibility, feasibility, system design, construction, commissioning and on-going operations of assets
Undertake project management for delivery of technical studies and advisory services and product development
Key Qualifications/Experiences:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline for admission as a member of Engineers Australia
At least 10 years experience in renewable energy hybrid power systems with emphasis on control, covering, design layout and system and installation and construction.
Experience in integration of generation, protection and control systems utilising advanced control and communications equipment
Experience in design and installation of hybrid energy power systems at utility scale.
Computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge of PLC control system hardware/software
Demonstrated ability in control system design and testing
Experience with the specification, procurement and installation of renewable generation systems such as solar PV, wind, BESS & control
