All whilst making your mark on the future.About this part of our organisation:Our Zinc Assets in Australia include multiple & geographically dispersed operations, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants and port facilities. The role is based in Brisbane, although you will be supporting multiple sites and locations.About your potential new position:Your primary purpose will be to assist in avoiding and resolving disputes by advising on Workplace Relations policies and strategy. You are responsible for working closely and collaboratively across the stakeholder groups, to obtain positive outcomes and monitor compliance.Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide authoritative advice including strategic advice, consultancy and case management services on a range of complex Workplace Relations issues.
• Managing relationships with workforce representatives & engagements are consistent with Our Values.
• Overseeing the handling of complaints, supervising grievance procedures and facilitating counselling in conjunction with other stakeholders.
• Overseeing investigations and resolutions of complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Analysing employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis and revising people programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes.
• Provide Workplace Relations advice including interpretation of relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Provide Workplace Relations advice including approach for renewal and negotiation of enterprise agreements.
• Liaison with Payroll team regarding application of industrial instruments.
• Managing right of entry to site and guidance of officials.
• In-field first response to any industrial incident or action (in accordance with industrial risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans).
• Delivering training to management and other personnel on Workplace Relations and HR topics.
• Ensuring compliance, advice and support to personnel and management in the implementation of performance management processes.
• Keeping informed of Fair Work Act, industrial systems & structures and industrial agreement terms, conditions, & remuneration and identifying emerging issues in a workplace and assist in developing strategies to mitigate risks.
• Ability to liaise with all levels of the workforce and comfortable to interact with a range of issues.
• Regular travel to our Assets in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

As a workforce relations professional we expect you to have:

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Fair Work Act
• Ability to interpret Common Law Contracts, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
• Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills
